Thanksgiving Poems- Happy Thanksgiving Day 2020

Thanksgiving poems are an excellent way to express your gratitude for friends and family and all life has to offer. You can include them in cards that you send to love ones who might not be able to join you for Thanksgiving dinner, or you can include them on formal Thanksgiving dinner invitations.

To get into the Thanksgiving spirit, we've come up with a list of poems that graciously express the joy of the holiday. If you fumble under pressure, we've collected short poems to recite to the room.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Take a turkey, stuff it fat,
Some of this and some of that
Get some turnips, peel them well
Cook a big squash in its shell.
Now potatoes, big and white,
Mash till they are soft and light.
Cranberries, so tart and sweet,
With a turkey we must eat.
Pickles-yes-and then, oh my!
For a dessert a pumpkin pie,
Golden brown and spicy sweet
What a fine Thanksgiving treat!

Religious Thanksgiving Prayer

We Give Thanks
Our Father in Heaven,
We give thanks for the pleasure
Of gathering together for this occasion.
We give thanks for this food
Prepared by loving hands.
We give thanks for life,
The freedom to enjoy it all
And all other blessings.
As we partake of this food,
We pray for health and strength
To carry on and try to live as You would have us.
This we ask in the name of Christ,
